We need any willing parents who can give as much or little time as they have to help in some way. Friends meet half-termly and arrange fund-raising events and support the school in their events and performances. The funds raised provide days out for the children such as pantomime performance, sporting experiences and gifts for school leavers; the school residential is heavily subsidised through Friends.
Welcome to the Friends Of Asby School webpage. This page explains a little about who we are, what we do, and how you can get involved in supporting the school. There is also a diary where you can find out about some of the upcoming events we are planning, and a gallery showing some of the things we have been involved with so far.
Keep an eye on the school website and noticeboard for other events throughout the year, and if you'd like to know a little more about what we do, please feel free to contact Sam Jackson on 017683 53855 or at email@example.com for an informal chat!
Friends Of Asby School is a voluntary group that organises events to raise money for the school. It is an informal and friendly group, consisting mostly of parents and our friends in the community. We work very closely with the school to put on fundraising (and fun!) events that are popular with the children, such as beetle drives, coffee mornings, and the annual Christmas Fair.
All the money we raise goes directly to the school, funding things such as sports equipment and trips, Christmas presents and pantomime visits for the children, and other additional activities. We also provide refreshments at events such as church services and the Christmas play.
Everyone is more than welcome to come along and get involved in what we do. The Friends is a very informal, friendly and welcoming group with no 'official' membership, and we are always happy to see new faces. As well as providing a practical way of getting involved with supporting the school, it is also a great way to meet other parents and friends of the school.
We hold meetings every term which anyone can attend - you don't need to ask in advance, please just feel free to come along with no obligation! Meetings only last about half an hour, and children are more than welcome to come along and play at the same time.
We also usually arrange a meal at Christmas where parents, staff and friends get together; this is a great chance for everyone to catch up in an informal capacity.
The dates of our next meeting can be found in the diary on this page and the weekly school newsletter, or if you would like an informal chat with someone about what we do then we will be more than happy. The names of our committee members, and details on how we can be contacted, can be found further down this page.
A list of some of the members of the Friends committee. We are always on hand to welcome to new people along or answer any queries you have, so please get in touch if we can help in any way!
Please feel free to give me a call on 017683 53855 or drop me an e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions, or if you would like an informal chat about what we do!
