Who are the Friends Of Asby Endowed School?

Friends Of Asby Endowed School is a voluntary group that organises events to raise money for the school. It is an informal and friendly group, consisting mostly of parents and our friends in the community. We work very closely with the school to put on fundraising (and fun!) events that are popular with the children, such as beetle drives, coffee mornings, and the annual Christmas Fair.

All the money we raise goes directly to the school, funding things such as sports equipment and trips, Christmas presents and pantomime visits for the children, and other additional activities. We also provide refreshments at events such as church services and the Christmas play.

How You Can Get Involved

Everyone (parents, grandparents, community members, friends) is more than welcome to come along and get involved in what we do. Friends of AES is a very informal, friendly and welcoming group with no 'official' membership, and we are always happy to see new faces. As well as providing a practical way of getting involved with supporting the school, it is also a great way to meet other parents and friends of the school.

We hold meetings every term which anyone can attend - you do not need to ask in advance, please just feel free to come along with no obligation! Meetings only last about half an hour, and children are more than welcome to come along and play at the same time.

We also usually arrange a meal at Christmas and the end of the Summer term where parents, staff and friends get together; this is a great chance for everyone to catch up in an informal capacity.
