Asby Endowed School

School Trip To Blackpool

On Tuesday 12th July the whole school went to Blackpool for our end of term trip along with Janice, Carol and Fiona who were our parent helpers. It was an early set off for everyone having to be in school by 8.30am ready to get on the bus.

We had a very exciting day starting with the Ascent Trampoline Park. When we arrived we were met by Angie, a member of staff from the centre and she took us into a room where she gave us some special socks and showed us a safety video. We were then allowed to explore the park! Everyone had an excellent time trying out all of the different trampolines; their favourite seemed to be the area where you jumped onto an inflatable grey mat and also the ball pool which was full of foam bricks. Even the teachers and parent helpers had a go after being begged by the children! The bus then dropped us off near the promenade and we walked to the beach where we ate our packed lunches.

After lunch we had a paddle on the beach before moving onto the Sea Life Centre. At the centre we were met by Dave who was our guide, he took us around the centre introducing all of the different creatures to us. I think a highlight for the children was watching the Piranha’s being fed in the large tank and getting chance to touch a Star Fish. After the tour we all had chance to go around the centre in our small groups with an adult.

We finished the day by getting an ice-cream thanks go to the Friends of the school committee for paying for these. Everyone returned to the bus looking exhausted getting back to school at 5o’clock, ready to tell their parents what a busy day they had!
