After 6 weeks on rehearsing, the day had finally arrived for the dancing troop of Asby Endowed School to perform at the U-Dance festival at The Sands Centre, Carlisle.
Meg Flynn choreographed the 3 minute dance based on our Spring topic of Africa. The dance centred on the African animals we had researched – the lion, gazelle, parrot and frog. Each animal performed a dance for the African chief. He pronounced the frog the winner, who invited all the animals to dance with him on stage. The final section of the dance was based on Azonto, a Ghanaian street dance.
