Class 1 Remote Learning 2-day programme

Two day Programme for pupils

Tuesday, 5th and Wednesday, 6th January

This is your initial two day programme for you to complete following the introduction of a national lockdown from midnight on Tuesday, 5th January.  Your class teacher will contact you via Teams on Thursday, 7th January to discuss your remote learning beyond this point.  You will set you a weekly timetable of activities linked, where possible, to the learning taking place in the classroom.

Click on the hyperlinked green words and you will be connected to your lessons.  The tasks can be completed in any order.  Your home learning should take no more than 3 to 4 hours to complete.  Break your day up like you would in school, with break times and lunchtimes.

Record your lesson in your books/or on paper in your homework folder.  At the end of your lesson, if you are able take a photo of your work and post it in the general chat room on your Class 1 Microsoft Teams.  Remember you login details to SpellingShed, Bug Club and Teams are in the front of your reading record.

If you want to complete more work than set below, there are lots and lots of more activities can be found by clicking here or here!

Parents - read the below description to your child, the are then to draw a picture based on what you have read (repeat it as many times as you need to).

Setting description

There was once a wide windswept place, near nowhere and close to forgotten, that was filled with all the things that no one wanted. Right in the middle was a small house, with small windows, that looked out on other people’s rubbish and bad weather.

If you feel confident to do this work on showbie there is a blank document in the 'English - writing' folder, but if you just want to do it on paper that is also good.

Task 5

Topic

This term our topic is inventors. Inventors are people who think of new ideas and create these. As the term goes on we will find out about different inventors and their inventions.

This afternoon I would like you to be the inventors and create your own invention. This can be of anything you would like it to be, get thinking really hard.

I am looking forward to seeing them. Make sure you look at the lesson for tomorrow afternoon too so you know how you will follow this lesson up.

Topic

This afternoon you are going to be looking at your invention again but you are going to think about the people who will use your invention.

Create a poster advertising your invention, think carefully who will use it - if it is a toy then an old lady isn't going to use it, if it is a car a child can't use it. Make your poster for the type of people who will use the invention.
