Good Vibrations
The children have spent their first morning back exploring how sound travels via vibrations. They started by going outside to see what effect distance and walls had on the sound.
Then they made string telephones using a variety of cups and different lengths of string. They enjoyed talking to each other from a distance.
It was then time for a soundproofing challenge. A sound meter was used to measure the decibels from a phone playing a song. They tried lots of different materials to try to reduce the amplitude. They got quite inventive!
