Making Viking Butter

As part of our Viking topic we have been learning about Viking foods. Did you know they ate nettles? 

 

We then had a chance to make our very own butter by shaking cream in a jar. It was really hard work and we had to shake it very hard. We couldn’t see the buttercream separating from the cream as it had been processed. 

 

One of the children managed to get some milk almost straight from their cows. They made butter at home and brought it in for us to try. It tasted yummy.
