Class 1 had a wonderful afternoon today at Stainmore Railway Company. The volunteers, Rob, Mike and Sue, were fantastic.
The children had a great time learning about bridges and their construction. They then learnt about the job of a train guard and the importance of checking the carriage doors are shut before signalling the train to go! The final task was to learn about the job of a shunter. The children soon became experts at shunter signalling!
Finally, a great time was had looking at the Victorian and other vintage locomotives, carriages and wagons, as well as a look around the museum.
