SEND provision at Asby is a source of real pride. Inclusion sits at the heart of school life: our goal is for every child is valued, supported and able to take part fully in the curriculum and wider opportunities.
Close partnership between pupils, staff, parents/carers, and external agencies helps children achieve their best. The child’s voice is central to decision-making, with pupils encouraged to play an active role in their learning journey.
Our graduated approach ensures that all pupils on the SEND register have bespoke targets that are reviewed on at least a termly basis, in partnership with external agencies and parents
High-quality classroom teaching is the foundation of SEND support
Small, mixed-age classes allow learning to be adapted to individual needs
Strategies include flexible teaching, scaffolding, assistive technology and explicit instruction
Targeted interventions by trained staff are available where appropriate, including support for phonics and emotional development
We have skilled and professional team of teachers and teaching assistants

The SENCo, Mr Davis, leads provision and maintains high expectations for every pupils
Pupil progress is reviewed regularly using assessment information and professional observations
