End of Year Expedition: 17th - 19th July 2024
Small School on Big Adventures!
On Wednesday, 17th July 16 young intrepid explorers from Asby Endowed School, with instructors from The Wilderness Company, set off from Askham, map reading over Barton Fell to Pooley Bridge, where they set up camp for the next 2 nights. After a BBQ and exploring the shoreline of Ullswater, a good nights sleep was had by some!
Early to rise the next morning, the younger pupils returned to school, whilst the older children set sail from Glenridding back to Pooley Bridge, canoeing over 13km! An early evening swim in Ullswater before a fish 'n' chip supper soon ensured everyone slept well on the 2nd night!
The final day of the expedition took the explorers for a walk up Aira Force Waterfalls and a paddle!
