  • Children of the World

Thu 16 Dec 2021 Michelle Clark

After weeks of rehearsal, the whole school debuted their performance of ‘Children of the World’.  It was a wonderful performance, where the children travelled to USA, Australia, Eire, Poland, China and Malawi to learn about their countries Christmas traditions.

  • Festive Fun

    Thu 16 Dec 2021

Yesterday the children got into the spirit of Christmas with a special lunch. All of the Christmas Dinner favourites, crackers and special decorations.

Then their music lesson included Jingle Bells on boomwhackers and the 12 Days of Christmas with actions. This all got them in the right spirit for the play in the evening.

  • A Christmas Journey

    Wed 15 Dec 2021

This morning Andi from NISCU and members of the local community took the children on a Christmas journey at the church. They learned about the Creation and then met characters from the story of Jesus’ birth. This brought the true Christmas story to life.

  • Wilderness Workshop

    Wed 08 Dec 2021

The children have had another fabulous day with Wilderness Outdoor Education and Shining Stars nursery. This time in woods in our village.

As it was raining the children helped to put up shelters before we did anything it else. Then hot chocolate was made on the fire whilst the children hunted for sticks for crafts.

The children had to work together to tie their sticks into triangles to make a Christmas tree shape. Then they wove wool around to finish the piece.

After a hot lunch at school the children returned to the woods. This time they helped to make Canadian campfire apple crumble. It was cooked on the fire whilst they did a nature hunt.

Then it was time to cook s’mores! Yummy!

Finally the children learned about the 3 kinds of mushroom that were growing in the woods.

  • Islam Workshop

    Fri 03 Dec 2021

We were very lucky to have Imran Kotwol come to talk to us all about Islam. The children learned more about how Muslims worship and could see some of the items that are special to them.

The children were amazed to hear how many people go on the Haj pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia every year - just over 2 million!
